CURRENT PROFESSIONAL WORK

CLINICAL - As a consultant in internal medicine and pulmonology, I supervise a team of physicians (2 interns, 2 residents, and 2 senior registrars) in diagnosis and management of patients in the ward and in the clinic. As a pulmonologist, my work also includes consultations, bronchoscopies, and PFT interpretation.

ACADEMIC - Academic activities as a University staff include extensive teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate students (Diploma, Arab Board and Fellowship), and participation in Grand Rounds, Topic Updates and Examination Review Sessions.

MEDICAL RESEARCH - My main field of research is pulmonary medicine including bronchial asthma and tuberculosis. I participated in a national tuberculosis survey, (1988-1990) and another tuberculosis research to study active tuberculosis cases in the Ministry of Health (MOH) hospital. A major multicenter research was recently done on asthma control test in Saudi Arabia.
